Tour de Manc welcomes safety officers Alan and Karen to the team

The Tour de Manc team welcomes new team members Karen Radband and Alan Stockton. Both have been appointed to help ensure the growth of our ride is as safe and considered as ever.

Karen will ensure our Health & Safety protocols and related communications with the ten Greater Manchester local authorities are current, clear and robust. Alan will lead on our rider response protocols.

Both are proud Mancunians and Salfordians and whilst Karen is part of Manchester’s cycling community, riding with Team Glow, Alan’s two-wheeled passion is more focused on motorbiking, though he once shared a hotel with the Tour de France teams whilst motorbiking in the Swiss Alps. 

Alan has volunteered with our event for the previous three years, as well as being a motorbike official for the British Triathlon team whilst Karen is new to this event although she has ridden other challenging sportives including the Maratona, in the Italian Dolomites.

Both are passionate about our community and driven by our mission of using cycling for good. And both will be looking for volunteers to support the safety of our rides. We’ll post volunteering roles on our website, but if you can’t wait ‘til then, send us a message!
